i hear a lot about the mangosteen and how it's everyone's favorite fruit. there was actually a really great article in the new york times a few months back about mangosteens and the author's lust for them. we can't get them here in the states because of the mediterranean fruit fly that usually comes with them. i managed to get a few slightly spoiled mangosteens while i was in amsterdam last thanksgiving. they were really good and i would love to try them perfectly ripe and large :) you're very lucky to live in a part of the world that you can get them!

by the way, that indian food looks delicious! (i'm vegetarian so i can't really comment on the rest)

You are making me so hungry! I'm drooling over that Peking Duck and the Sukiyaki. But what really has me foaming at the mouth are the Blueberry Pancakes. Yum!

I like all kinds of fruits, so now I'm curious about the mangosteen. What a good reason to travel... to find new fruits. heh.

Great pictures, by the way! Thanks!

My mouth is watering over the sight of all that food! Some of my favourites too. I love Peking duck, fish 'n chips, Korean BBQ, and especially Indian food. I've never tried mangosteen, but it looks like an interesting fruit.

Mariko, glad you picked up on the sakura-mochi!! I was gonna write about it but decided not too. On our first day we had dinner at our company's Bangkok office president's house and he's Japanese. They hired a bunch of chefs for the night, so it was a mixture of local and Japanese cuisine - very interesting.

Mmmmmm. There is nothing in my fridge and I'm just DYING over here.
