All of the spots for the next Pinku swap have been filled - thanks ladies! I will be emailing you the details of your secret swap partner by the end of next week, and then you can start crafting or shopping.
The New York Times has a great article about one of my favourite shops in Tokyo, Ranking Queen. Things I have bought at Ranking Queen: curry-flavoured toothpaste, lip balm from Nepal, really yummy cheese-flavoured mochi snacks, and for a while I coveted this popular grapefruit-smelling perfume, but I can't remember what it is called.
There is one near the East ticket gate at Shinjuku Station and one in Shibuya Station near the JR Entrance on the 1st floor. Crap directions, but check them out when you have the chance.
OOOOH, I have to go! I'm coming to Tokyo for 3 days in June for a "work conference" but I might be able to squeeze in some shopping time at lunch or change my Shinkansen times. Oh, the allures of the big city! I hope I can handle it!!

I've walked by that store more than a dozen times and always in a hurry, so I never knew what they sold, but have always wondered. I think 'ranking queen' sounds like a vacuum cleaner! Now I know where to go for cool omiyage - or if I just want something fun for myself : )
Been knitting lately?
