Why didn't anyone tell me about Reveal? This came out in 2003 and I only see this sweater for the first time today! Has anyone made this? This is definitely on my fall/winter knit list and it's right at the top actually - well after I finish Florence (have finished the back and the left side), and the turtleneck shrug (TNS) for Miss Twiss. I cast on for the TNS with four dpns, then switched to a 4.8 mm 40cm circ, but I think it's coming out to big, so I will be switching to a smaller needle tonight.
Reveal by Leah Sutton (Rowan 34) in Rowan Cork
Reveal is totally something I would wear in the colder months. I'm not into bulky knits and even though this is a large guage project, I love its figure hugging qualities. I am also going to knit a cropped bolero vest (found via Purly Brites).
So what are your must knits for the upcoming colder months?
you know i really love reveal as well. however every time i tell people i want to make it - they laugh at me.

I love that cropped vest. I'm thinking of making this vest from VK http://www.vogueknitting.com/vkm/preview/2005/fall/VKF05VEST-4-NEW.html sans the fair isle.

I've never seen this pattern before either. It looks like a lot of fun! I would totally make that.

I'm going to make Kepler. Have you seen it? http://fathomharvill.typepad.com/fathom/2005/08/free_pattern_ke.html

I love Reveal! I slept on that Rowan 34 mag for a while and didn't buy it until now. Now I'm waiting for my delivery of yarn for Reveal and Birch. :)
What color are you going to make it in?

i like that vest that amy pointed out from VK sans fair isle. it would look nice in a dk grey, i think.
i have TOO many patterns in my queue and i'm trying to hold back from making or wanting to make too many things. i'll just get overwhelmed!

Oh! How did you know that I have a bunch of Rowan Cork to use up?!
So pretty!

Cork is discountinued but Lynette on eBay is offering great $30/bag prices of a few diff. colors.
I'll be doing a shawl from vogue knitting, the simple one by Meg Swansen, as an early Fall project. Then it is back to other sweaters and hopefully I can decide which sweater next!

that's a very nice sweater -- would love to
see the post if you make it!
i've yet to make a sweater for myself and i've yet
to finish a toddler sweater (it's a work in process for almost a year already).

Hi K... finally back in New York and picking up my pointy sticks. Bought a bunch of merino yarn and sock yarn in Germany - and will be starting Teva's Leaf Sweater a la LoopDLoop for the fall.

Thanks for the tip, Pinku: I'm going to try that cropped bolero. It looks do-able for a beginner like me... I recently made one of the Interweave Knits shrugs and am currently working on the basketweave scarf in S'n'B Nation. I *told* you I was a beginner!

Thanks for posting the link for the bolero, i'm a new knitter and i think i can make it. we'll see, i'd love to see your's when you're done.

i've never commented here before but i thought i would drop you a line about this one. i made reveal in the smallest size and it came out way big! i had to rip it.

I wasn't sure about Reveal at first -- laughed at it too. I've seen similar sweaters at Chicago boutiques - bought one by a local designer and get compliments constantly. That totally tipped me to Reveal and just started it. Not laughing now. Am curious if anyone has knitted it how it turned out.

I have just finished this and (like the commenter above) it came out WAY too big - like nearly down to my knees - and the pattern seemed far more complicated than it need to be - so I ripped the whole thing and started again making it up myself - and its turned out really smashing - I love it - if anyone wants my home-made version of this pattern I'd be happy to forward it on...

Hi Violetsrose!
I would love to get a copy of your home-made pattern since I just bought #34 specifically for the Reveal pattern!
I'm bummed out to hear that the instructions are faulty - has Rowan issued a correction?
