I just found your blog thru floating world's blog. I have a 7 month old boy. We have the Foogo sippy which is great. The food container is also great for carrying homemade food when we are out of the house.
I love Japanese clothes and fabric. I hope to go there again soon while the baby is little so I can dress him up before he starts making his own clothing choices!
Your blog is great. I look forward to checking it out in the future!

i think that's why a lot of talcum powder is made from corn starch nowadays. if you buy that version, you can be back to those dry diapers again.

claire

that's hideous! i have always loved talc, it got me through some serious chafing worries in vietnam :<

that shirt is awesome though, can i have one?

Abbey

I don't think you're a bad mother. Mothers didn't know certain drugs caused physical health problems in children. They didn't know. :) You're a great mom. You threw it away! just switch to corn starch instead.

I usually feel like these doom day scenarios are hoaxes, but I couldn't find anything about it on Snopes.com. From what I've read it may slightly increase the risk of ovarian cancer, so it seems like Jake will be fine :)

Gah! There's always something to make you feel like a bad mum, hey?
I hadn't read about talcum powder = cancer, but I had been told that it can cause asthma if babies breath it in. Who knows?
I love Jake's t-shirt, super cute.

Go with the cornstarch!! It is nicer and doesn't hurt their wee lungs!!

jenny

hey cutie.
check out the burt's line of stuff for babies... http://www.burtsbees.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?categoryId=10008&subCategoryId=-5&productId=-7&catalogId=10051&storeId=10001&langId=-1

just remember, we all probably grew up with talc powder all over our bums and we are doing just fine :)
a bad momma, you are not!

look at your cute little guy!!!

I was skimming through information that I can prepare for new comers to Kichijoji for our Summer Day Camp in August and was freaked out by your post! I am a preschool teacher, and though i am always on the look out for new information like this, I had never had the opportunity to come across this either...thank you for sharing this information!

If you're ever in Inokashira Park and near the Ghibli Musem, come visit out school! We have just opened Mom/Dad & Me classes for 1.5 - 2.5 year olds too :)

Happy parenting in Kich!
